are you crazy? NEVER.
never say never???
NEVER!
but tell me - what's that one thing that you've purchased?
you know what i'm talking about! LOLOL you got it on sale..... or it was just SO cute and you were convincing yourself that in jusssssst 45 more pounds you could wear it! hahahahahaha
yep. i have one of those. it is NOT a bikini. cuz i would not, could not.
noooope. that ship has sailed long ago. goodbye ship.
but i do have a swimsuit. size: "ridiculous". 6 years ago, my sister told me - "be reasonable, buy size: partially ridiculous." LOL she said - "sister.... dear dear sister. it is one month before summer starts. you cannot fit size ridiculous - but you can fit size - partially ridiculous."
and i said oh yeah??????? (cuz i love a good challenge!)
turns out. yeah, i didn't love that challenge as much as i loved food that summer.
i wouldn't even fit size partially ridiculous that year.
and 6 years later - it still sits in my drawer. oh, i like to take it out, and re-fold it every once in a while. maybe lay it out next to my sunscreen and towel and pretend. hahahaha
but THIS YEAR.
ohhhhhhhhh this year. we are going on a cruise in April and THIS year....
size ridiculous is all mine.
what about you? do you have a size ridiculous garment just taking up space in your drawers???
i wish i had some brave and daring readers to share their "size ridiculous" stories with me! hehehehehehe
UPDATE! lolol I JUST remembed as i posted this in the Healthy Wage forum - i have something that beats the 6 year old unworn bathing suit. i actually have a dress from 1994. it is STILL hanging up in my closet!!!!! We have moved 5 times since 1994 - and can you believe that I actually put that dress into a moving box for 21 years?!?!?!?!?!?! ROFLLLLLLLLLLL
i am GOING to wear it one day soon, and i am GOING to bring 1994 back in a sweet way! hahahahahahaha It's probably so retro - it will be cool again! hahhaha
Sitting here planning.... where and when can I debut this lovely dress! hehehe
I just discovered a sundress that I wore once on a trip to the Hamptons. It is a gorgeous combination of different color blues and it laces up the back. The key word is once. That was a hundred years and a hundred pounds ago. I have since gained a few pounds over the years but I still kept the dress. Size ridiculous!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I knew there was at least one brave soul that would share my pain! hehehehe I'm getting PRIVATE messages about other "size:ridiculous" clothes.... and i'm trying to coax them out into the open :)
DeleteI have these three pairs of pants I bought at the Goodwill probably 5 years ago. Sizes 10, 8, and 6. I have never been any of those sizes. I'm close to being comfy in 14s again, so I'm on my way, but it won't be happening this year for sure!
ReplyDeleteYou will fit into those 6's!!!!! i know it ;) thanks for sharing! i love that we can all relate to each other's struggles -and giggle about them too!
DeleteI have a pair of camo cargo shorts that I bought 11 years ago in the springtime in the hope that I could wear them by the end of that summer. At the time that I bought them they had a button to button hole spread of about 2 inches. Needless to say I never closed the gap that summer and the gap grew to a place that needed an 8" insert of maternity pants stretch material to make them wearable. One move and five closet purgings later they are still swinging on a hanger called "hope". I was an inch an a half from closing the gap before I went on vacation a few weeks ago. I porked it up good and I know the gap has spread. Let's just say that I am determined to walk the "runway" with you on the cruise. We will be "stylin" !!!
ReplyDeleteoh yeah!!!!! cruisin' and stylin'!!!! the only way to go! :) can't wait!!!
DeleteSo, I used to have a sleek one piece tank suit with Budweiser logos all over it hiding in my under lovely drawer... I would diet and take it out and shinny into it as far as I could... Only to get it as far as my knees... The ridiculosity isn't so much the yoyo I'd become but that in my head I had fancied myself as a "Bud" girl - HAHAHAHA!! Whu? Zoom in 20 years, I'm now 53, in menopause and 40lbs over AGAIN!! Now I look more like Maxine!!
ReplyDeleteSuzie - i'm cracking up!!!!!!! Now that i think about it - i ALSO have my honeymoon bathing suit!!!!! oh my gosh - i'm laughing so hard right now. why do i still have that?!?!?! memories??? because i'm surely not going to ever fit THAT again! hahahaha ...... or ...... will i? ;)
DeleteYou just might! Hopefully the rubber in the elastic hasn't decayed 😎 HAHAHAHA, that's how you KNOW you've had it waaaaaaaay too long!!!
Deletehehehe that would make for a very exciting experience!!!!!! LOLOLOLOL
DeleteI have a a pair of size ridiculous bell bottom blue jeans that I wore in college still hanging in my closet. That was 3 kids and I wont tell you how many years ago (but you can probably figure it out....I mean come on...bell bottoms!!!) I always think of them as my bench mark. If I can manage to get them zipped up again I'll have met the challenge. Irregardless of the fact that no matter how much weight I've lost these "momma hips" are NEVER going back their pre-baby width. LOL
ReplyDeleteWell this is just pure gold Debb! :) bell bottoms - YES!!!!! i do believe you are the winner! hehehehe but i totally know what you mean - i think thats why i keep mine too. cuz it really is a benchmark! scales can only do so much - but when you get into CLOTHES that mark a certain time period. it's a little trip down memory lane, and a little pat on the back too! :) and don't even get me started with "momma hips". Seriously i thought hips go back after babies. little did i know...... and do you know they have some strap that you can put on after birth?!?! it's like a velcro thing that keeps constant pressure on your hips to coax them back into their pre-baby time place. WHY DIDN'T SOMEONE TELL ME ABOUT THIS AFTER MY CHILDREN'S BIRTHS?!?!?! lol geeez. i guess you had to be in the club to hear about that ;) and now - i guess - it's too late. because SUPPOSEDLY you only have like 6 weeks to jump on that. and then your hips stay permanently locked in post-baby width LOL i only have one things to say about that. hips are jerks. LOLOL (thanks for your humor and sharing with us!!!)
